Aucorsa, the municipal public transport company for the Spanish city of Córdoba, introduced today twenty new CNG buses and the newly built gas fueling station in its facilities. Yesterday the mayor, Isabel Ambrosio, accompanied by councilors of the PSOE, PP, Ciudadanos and Ganemos and workers of the company, visited Aucorsa headquarters in order to see the operation of the gas station that will, for now, supply 25 buses but that is able to feed 40. In addition to the 20 new gas vehicles that will circulate around the city from today, five more will be added in the coming days.
The mayor indicated that at the end of April, 18 more, bringing the total of new buses powered by compressed gas to 43out of the total 116 in its fleet. The gas station allows the refueling of each bus in 8 minutes by means of rapid filling dispensers and will refuel all the vehicles. during the night - between 11pm and 6am.
The mayor pointed out that the investment in buses and gas has been "the largest Aucorsa has had since its birth." In addition to the fuel savings, estimated at 30%, she highlighted the contribution of these buses to improve air quality in the city.
