The refrigeration transport company Delgo Operador de Transporte , based in Massalfassar (Valencia), has added 37 SCANIA LNG trucks to its fleet, confirming a strong commitment to this type of fuel, in replacement of conventional diesel.
The new units include 33 new Scania LNG tractors with 410 HP and 2000 Nm engines and four rigid 340 hp units , also with gas engine. This mean that 40% of its fleet will be gas vehicles once the deliveries are completed this month.
The Valencian operator uses these new gas units on national routes, mainly in supply services for Lidl , with which the routes usually focus on closed circuits between logistics platforms and supermarkets in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and Murcia, especially.
For the Valencian company of refrigerated transport, these units bring advantages in terms of reduction in fuel consumption, as well as in the purchase price of natural gas, while also contributing to the reduction of polluting emissions in the transport operations, something of crucial importance when working with large international clients that also involve their collaborators in the development of corporate social responsibility policies that have a strong emphasis on respect for the environment and sustainability.
For the supply of gas, Delgo has obtained the permits to have a gas station in its facilities in Valencia . "There are quite a few gas supply sites on our national routes, but for international transport, it is more complicated because we do not have fixed routes," says Felix Gonzalez, Manager at Delgo.
Delgo is in full expansion of its business and, in 2018, ended with revenues of € 27.8 M , which represented an increase of 36% over 2017. Likewise, its workforce has grown from 128 employees to about 170 .
