The Vice-President of Colombia, Marta Lucía Ramírez, and the Minister of Transport, Angela Maria Orozco, together with the mayor of Cartagena, Dairo Kuhlmann, symbolically presented the keys of the 44 new CNG buses to the community leaders. the units will come into operation immediately in the Transcaribe fleet.
With this delivery, Transcaribe completes a fleet 308 buses with Euro VI technology that use of natural gas as a fuel, reducing up to 98% the emissions of polluting gases.
Currently, Transcaribe mobilizes a daily average of 128,000 passengers on business days. However, it is estimated that, with the entry into operation of these new routes, the average is expected to increase by 22,000 users
The cost of acquiring these 44 buses and the 25 remaining buses still in customs that will be operated by Transcaribe, amounts to U$D 10.6 million; Banco Itaú in Colombia participated in the financing of this modern fleet.
