Iveco at full methane at the IAA 2018

The Italian manufacturer’s stand at the Hannover Motor Show will be a “diesel free” zone, with great focus on  industrial vehicles powered by natural gas. 

The Iveco exhibition area at the 67th IAA in Hannover (September 20 to 27) will be dedicated to reduced emissions vehicles. In fact, the manufacturer has announced that it will exhibit eighteen vehicles only with alternative traction, meaning compressed or liquefied natural gas and electric. The stand, created in collaboration with Shell, will also host important customers and a body builder. Iveco will also organize a round table entitled “The energy transition to a sustainable future” and some workshops to deepen alternative drive technologies in the transport sector and opportunities for creating a circular economy.

“Diesel is subject to increasingly intense pressures: public opinion has manifested itself against its use,” explains Pierre Lahutte, Iveco Brand President. “EU institutions and national governments are introducing policies and subsidies to encourage the conversion of fleets to sustainable technologies : Iveco, at the IAA fair, with its low-emission diesel-free stand and in collaboration with Shell, will demonstrate its complete range of electric vehicles, CNG and LNG is already an available and operational alternative to  diesel, and visitors will be able to explore a stand full of alternative traction vehicles, developed in collaboration with customers and outfitters, capable of tackling any mission ,
In freight transport, Iveco will show two Eurocargo NP fueled with liquefied natural gas for urban distribution complying with the Euro VI Step D emissions regulations a year in advance. For distribution over a wider radius, the manufacturer will present a 26-tonne Stralis NP 400 tractor with refrigerated equipment, which will use the new CNG Carrier Supra technology to power the cooling system. This model has the certificate Piek, also suitable for the night supply of supermarkets in the city center and offers a range of one thousand kilometers.
