Jost Group acquires 30 LNG trucks from Iveco

The pan-European transport and logistics specialist Jost Group has acquired 30 more Iveco Stralis NP natural gas trucks at its headquarters in Herstal. The logistics company wants to make its fleet of 1,400 vehicles more sustainable, relying on LNG technology. The new vehicles with a 460 hp engine are gradually replacing four-year-old diesel powered trucks.

"Ecological concerns are in the heart of our reflexions in terms of sustainable purchasing" announced Roland Jost.

"The Jost Group has set itself clear environmental goals and also believes in the long-term potential of methane," said John Venstra, Business Director IVECO Benelux, said at the handover.

The vehicles, with a range of 1,600 km, standard semi-trailer heights and the same performance as for the diesel, can be used without any restrictions and be integrated immediately into the existing logistics without adaptation.

Fuelling of the units is as fast as diesel. In addition,  fuel AdBlue additive is eliminated . When transit through Germany, Jost also saves the toll and paired with the under-consumption operates much more economically. For the driver comfort is increased due to the quieter engine, which lacks the typical diesel noise.
