Delivery have been completed today of all 60 SANCITY 12LF CNG buses with CNG (compressed natural gas) drive, ordered by the city of Rzeszów. The contract signed at the end of 2019, is one of the largest ones concluded by AUTOSAN sp. . There are now 122 low-emission gas-powered buses in the MPK Rzeszów fleet which totals 221.
The value of the investment is PLN 81 million (21.5 million USD) . The purchase of vehicles was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Program Eastern Poland 2014–2020. Initially the plan was to acquire 40 units, but the Public Transport Authority considered the possibility of increasing the order to 60 buses. To this end, city officials held talks on the possibility of increasing EU subsidies for purchases. The negotiations ended successfully for the city, thanks to which the order was increased to 60 vehicles, and the value of the signed contract increased to PLN 81 million.
The SANCITY 12LF CNG is a 12-meter-long low-floor bus powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), designed to handle urban passenger traffic. Fuel is stored in four or five composite cylinders with a capacity of 315 liters each, placed longitudinally on the roof of the bus. Its engine is a Cummins L9NE6D320 EURO VI, 325 HP or optional Cummins L9NE6D280 EURO VI 280 HP.
